How does ATAS help me?

ATAS is a voluntary scheme established to enhance travel industry standards and ensure the professionalism of the travel industry into the future. The ATAS symbol represents a business that has met extensive criteria and standards in order to become accredited.

All ATAS agents must adhere to the ATAS Code of Conduct. The Code sets standards of good practice that travel agents accredited under ATAS must follow in their day-to-day practices.

The Code supports the overall objectives of ATAS by:

  1. Setting minimum standards of behaviour and service delivery for ATAS accredited travel agents, and providing for suitable consequences when these standards are not met;
  2. Holding all ATAS accredited travel agents to the same standard of behaviour, no matter where they are based;
  3. Establishing an independent process for assisting consumers and their ATAS accredited travel agents to resolve any complaints or disputes that might arise; and
  4. Building the professionalism of the travel agent industry into the future.
