What should I look for if I want to make a travel booking online?

You should always verify that the business you are considering booking through is a business registered in Australia and are ATAS accredited.

There are an increasing number of travel websites out there. A lot of travel sales websites are based overseas and are not eligible for ATAS accreditation.

Not sure if they are ATAS?  You can check our ATAS search directory to validate their accreditation status.

It’s important to be aware that if you book with a foreign business, you are not entitled to the consumer protections you are afforded by booking through a business registered in Australia.

If you have an issue with an overseas based agent, you either need to find a solution with them directly or contact a consumer protection agency in that country.
